Curriculum of Slavic Studies

Marta Belia graduated in Intercultural and Linguistic Mediation at Sapienza University of Rome in 2017 with a thesis on Czech literature entitled „Reflection on writing in the texts of Bohumil Hrabal“ followed by Prof. Annalisa Cosentino. In January 2020 she graduated in Linguistics, Literary and Translation Studies at Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis on Czech poetry of the twentieth century entitled „Being a poet: Jaroslav Seifert and Jan Skácel witnesses of the twentieth century“ (Supervisor: Prof. Annalisa Cosentino, Assistant supervisor: Prof. Emanuela Sgambati). Thanks to the Erasmus program, in 2018 she spent a semester at Charles University in Prague attending Czech language and contemporary Czech literature courses.

Currently she deals with contemporary Czech poetry, in particular in the context of the PhD, her research focuses on the theme of everyday life in the works of Czech poets who have marked the twentieth century and contemporaneity.
