Martina Mecco completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Language, literature and cultural communication at University of Padua in 2019 with a thesis titled “Rilke’s Sonnets to Apollo as overcoming of the Dinggedicht poetic”. In July 2021 she completed her Master’s Degree in European and American languages and literatures at University of Padua. Her thesis, titled “Cultural memory and Avant-garde: a comparison between the collective identity of Devětsil and the case of Majakovskij”, focused on the construction of the identity of the Czech and Russian Avant-garde with an analysis dedicated to the ego-documents produced by the main representatives of the period. She took part in exchange programmes at Charles University during the academic year 2020-2021. Her research is currently focused on the activity of Roman Jakobson in Czechoslovakia during the interwar period, with a particular attention on the relations between the Czech and Russian contexts.
