Symposium on Medieval Slavonic Studies / Симпозиум по палеославистика

The Department of Ancient and Modern Civilisations of the University of Messina (Italy) and the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the Palaeobulgarica Foundation and the Young Slavists Collective, organise an international symposium intended for young scholars whose research focuses on Palaeoslavistics.

We invite PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and independent researchers to present their research, outlining the main challenges, the goals and the methodologies applied. The contributions, although restricted to the period of the Slavonic Middle Ages, may concern philological-literary, linguistic, palaeographical, diplomatic and codicological, artistic, cultural- historical studies, as well as be characterised by multi- and pluridisciplinary approaches. 

The Symposium on Slavonic Medieval Studies will be held from 4 to 6 September 2024 at the University of Messina, with the possibility of attending online via Zoom. PhD students and young researchers are invited to submit their proposals for a 15-minute talk by filling in the form provided here: https://forms.gle/Ux35wdz16xx38Ach7by 31 May 2024. Abstracts can be written in English, Italian, or any Slavic language. Acceptance will be notified by mid-June 2024.
